Free water testing, every day we’re open

Regular testing and the right adjustments are the keys to safe, clear, balanced water. Bring a sample to the store and our team will test it free — you’ll leave with a clear, easy-to-follow prescription telling you exactly what to add and when.

How often should you test?

  • Weekly. Test at least once a week for chlorine, pH, alkalinity, and stabilizer (cyanuric acid). Regular testing catches small issues before they become big, expensive ones.
  • After heavy use or weather. Also test after pool parties, rainstorms or high winds, very hot stretches, or adding fresh water — all of these can quickly throw off your balance.

What adjustments look like

Once your water is tested, small consistent adjustments beat big corrections every time. The usual suspects:

  • Sanitizer. Chlorine tablets, liquid chlorine, or shock — checked and adjusted weekly, more often with heavy use.
  • pH. Raised with soda ash, lowered with muriatic acid or sodium bisulfate. pH moves frequently, so it’s one of the most important levels to watch.
  • Alkalinity. Sodium bicarbonate stabilizes pH and prevents sudden swings.
  • Calcium hardness. Calcium chloride protects your surfaces and equipment.
  • Stabilizer. Cyanuric acid shields chlorine from Florida sun — especially important here.
  • Preventative treatments. Algaecide, clarifiers, and flocculants keep water clear and algae away.
